Meet Chunkie! This poor dog was discovered tied up in the rain, she was sick and cold, and there was no one around to help
her. No one seemed to care about the fate of this unfortunate creature. Luckily, firefighter Mike Thawley noticed the pooch and
could not just leave her there, so he took her home, cleaned her up and brought her to the shelter for some much-needed
medical attention. As a result of mange, this pooch had no hair on most of her body, so she was overjoyed when they dressed
her in warm clothes to protect her skin.
Chunkie didn’t spend too much time with Mike Thawley, but she formed an incredible bond with him! She knew what he had
done for her, and knew how to appreciate it. When he came back to the shelter the next day, Chunkie was over the moon! You
