You’ll agree that a long mane gives a horse a gorgeous and almost elvish-like appearance but in the case of this mama pony, her long locks almost caused her demise.
RSPCA inspectors were called in when the locals spotted a mare and her foal stuck in Loughor Estuary marshland in Gower, South Wales, after the pony’s back hoof became caught in a matted tangle of her mane. With a rising tide, it was a race against time to set her free quickly and safely.
God bless these guys, I can’t imagine how horrifying the poor animal it must have felt trapped like this with her baby by her side.
Thank God these heroes were there to help these poor horses, otherwise, something terrible would have happened.
