There are not many animals that can be considered a worldwide celebrity, but Jonathan the Giant Tortoise is for sure one of them. At an estimated age of 184, Jonathan is the oldest known living animal today, and even though he was around when
Charles Darwin made his historic voyage, up until now no one has thought of giving the old fellow a bath.
184 years of dirt and dust clearly made the old grandpa’s shell lose its shine (as well as increase risks of contracting some bacteria) so for the first time in recorded history, this is Jonathan getting a bath, a makeover if you will, and all of a sudden he doesn’t look a day older than 150.
What an honor it must be to wash such a magnificent animal…
